The competition in our 8th annual Local Quilt Shop Contest has been intense so far — with upsets, close calls, and returning victors — but it’s all been leading to this vital moment, the second weekend of the 2025 Local Quilt Shop Contest!
While, in other contests, the same team may take home the champion title over and over AND OVER again, the Local Quilt Shop Contest has rules in place to make sure sewists can expect a new national champion every year.
Since 2022, stores may only win the Grand Prize once. They may, however, still compete each year for Regional Prizes.
This means that previous champions such as SewEndipitious and The Old Country Store are not eligible for the Grand Prize, even though SewEndipitous is currently topping the Leaderboard.
Instead two stores have been duking it out for the Grand Prize title since the beginning of the competition. It seems that whenever one gets ahead, the other gets the votes needed to surpass them!
Neither of these shops has won a prize in any of the previous Local Quilt Shop Contests which adds to the excitement of seeing them rise so quickly to the top of the Leaderboard.

Week 2 Updates
With only two weeks of voting “in the books” and over three more weeks to go, it’s not even half-time in the 2025 Local Quilt Shop Contest. At this point of the competition, it’s still anyone’s game.
