With only one week left of the 8th annual Local Quilt Shop Contest, stores are on the hunt to get those important last minute votes.
This year, we’ve seen an influx of stores turning to social media to get support.
This past week, stores like Urban Sewciety, East Coast Quilt Co, and Boutique SMT started social media campaigns featuring clever videos and posts.
Other stores like Sew Charming, found a boost in votes because of promotion from local celebrities.
Within the last three days, the leaderboard has shifted dramatically.
Like we have said the entire contest, the LQS Contest is a marathon, not a sprint. But now that the finish line is in sight — it’s time to use up all the energy you’ve got left!
Regional News
New to 2025, stores now have to get at least 50 votes to take home the Regional Winner title, even if they have the most votes in the region. Of course, despite this new challenge, the sewing community came together to make sure their favorite shops got those 50+ votes.
This has led to a boom in votes and support worldwide, with many stores doubling or tripling their previous vote totals.
There’s already over 200 stores internationally who have reached over 50 votes.
With a week left of the contest 49 states, 9 Canadian provinces, and 7 nations have stores with over 50 votes.
As incredible as that number is, there are still many areas that still do not have a qualified Regional Winner.
Below is a list of regions where no store has reached 50 votes:
- Vermont: highest vote count 47
- United Arab Emirates: highest vote count 26
- Norway: highest vote count 17
- Denmark: highest vote count 14
- France: highest vote count 8
- Manitoba: highest vote count 3
- Singapore: highest vote count 2
- South Africa: highest vote count 2
- Sweden: highest vote count 2
If you live in or have any sewing friends who live in one of these regions, be sure to remind your friends to vote for their favorite quilt shop before the contest ends next Friday, February 28th 11:59pm MT!
As votes continue to come in, who knows how the contest will end.
