Lyneen Burrow, owner and Capi Saxton, manager

When Lyneen Burrow opened Always in Stitches back in 2005, her vision was simple: to create a welcoming space where makers could socialize and find high-quality products. As a passionate cross-stitcher and quilter herself, Lyneen wanted to establish a place where people like her could come together, share their love for crafting, and enjoy a variety of supplies to fuel their creativity. Over the years, that vision has blossomed, and Always in Stitches has grown into a vibrant hub for the creative community.

Today, Always in Stitches spans more than 9,000 square feet, offering a delightful array of fabrics, kits, and tools that cater to every maker’s needs.

The front of the store is filled with a vast selection of quilting fabrics, including a beautiful array of Cuddle® fabrics, pre-quilted options, and sewing notions from all the top brands. Venture into the back half, and you’ll find an extensive collection of yarns, crochet, and knitting supplies, alongside essential embroidery, cross-stitch, and needlepoint items.

The creative displays and stunning samples throughout the store make it impossible to resist picking up a kit—or even starting a new hobby!

A Community Hub

Always in Stitches is more than just a retail space. It’s a community center where creativity thrives. The store features several classrooms, offering a full schedule of classes for makers of all skill levels. Whether you’re looking to deepen your knowledge of knitting stitches or eager to learn how to craft a new bag, there’s a class that’s just for you.

In addition to classes, Always in Stitches offers in-house quilting services and machine maintenance, making it a one-stop shop for local makers. With a team of 25 enthusiastic employees, each with a passion for crafting, there’s no shortage of expertise and excitement to share with customers. The store manager, Capi Saxton, leads the team with energy and enthusiasm, ensuring that the shop remains a happy place for everyone who walks through the doors.

Capi shared the impact of participating in the Local Quilt Shop contest, saying, “We love being a part of the ByAnnie family. The LQS contest gave our customers an opportunity to share how much they appreciate our efforts to be the best shop that we can for all our stitching community.”

The shop’s efforts are clearly paying off. Stitchers across the country tune into their FlossTube videos with Lyneen and Peter, and every week, you can catch Capi showcasing the latest products and happenings in their “What’s New” videos on YouTube. The feedback from their customers during the LQS Contest was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the helpful and fun nature of the videos.

One customer, Barbara, commented, “Watching is just like being in the shop. You can hear the door opening, warm greetings by the staff, laughter mixed in with the talking, and you can get a tour of the new fabrics, notions, yarns, etc. That’s what a great local quilt shop should provide, and they do it in spades.”

Always in Stitches is a destination worth the trip, with some customers driving an hour or more just to visit. Diana shared her story, saying, “I don’t quilt or sew at all, but my mom does. We always look forward to going to Always in Stitches when she comes to town to visit. I love looking at fabrics as beautiful works of art & design, so this store has so many wonderful things for both of us.”
